When Winter is Coming… a lot of ice is needed on set!
Our Special Effects Ice Wax has been used in a number of recent blockbuster films and television series. It can be used to create ice sculptures and structures that, crucially, do not melt. You may have seen our transparent wax used to make icicles, ice altars and frozen lakes. Artists, special-effects specialists, studios and production companies around the world choose it for its quality and safety on stage and on set.
The wax can be heated until molten and poured by hand. When used with moulds—ideally silicone rubber or silicone-coated moulds—it can create glass-like props and theatrical structures, including bottles, jars and sheets of glass.
Props made from our Ice Wax and Glass Wax can be broken or shattered safely. If strength is not needed, SFX Shatter Wax 5901-A can be used instead.
